The third book in the Spy Series, BACKLASH, is now available for download on Smashwords and I thought some background would be helpful.
In my mind, the story wasn’t over when we last left our group in Paris. There was more to say, and some questions were left answered. It also occurs to me that almost all of the books begin and/or end with a family party. It wasn’t planned it just happened. This is a big social group of family and friends and as such, they have gatherings and celebrations simply because they enjoy being together. By now, it almost seems like the right place to start or to end their adventures.
In a post about SECRETS, I promised to give some attention to the new families introduced in that book. The first one would be the Lalonde’s, Lise, the matriarch, Lucien, the son and Sylvain, the precocious young teen grandson. They live in Paris, and we are introduced to them because they play a big part in the telling of this story.
The mysterious Lucien befriended Bryan while he was in Paris studying and arranged for him to board with his mother. Bryan enjoyed a good relationship with Lise and Sylvain while he was there and when planning his honeymoon, staying with her seemed a perfect way to introduce Sonya to Paris.
The second family introduced is the Dupont’s. Mimi and Maurice are the handsome children of Dr. Joselyn Dupont. They were introduced in Secrets, continue on in Backlash, and play a starring role in Le MARIONETTE. And, they have a very strong tie to BB.
Another family will be expanded in Le Marionette. You already know Igor, but he is not quite the loner that he has appeared to be thus far.
