BACKLASH completes in my mind, some of the unfinished story from SECRETS. There are family issues; BB and Mike, Sonya and Bryan and Mimi and Steve.
Do Mike and BB really form a relationship, or do they have any time? One would hope so, but the story ends. Are Sonya and Bryan ready to let the horror of their honeymoon in Paris become a forgotten memory? And do our handsome spy couple live happily ever after? Well, I for one, wanted to know!
And so was born BACKLASH. I love the characters and I wanted those answers. But I felt that they should be in a place that I knew well. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Paris and plan to return some day. Le MARIONETTE takes us back there (fictionally). BACKLASH takes us to the place that began the Spy Series, Calgary, Alberta.
I love the province of Alberta and it is very familiar to me, as is the city of Calgary. The natural beauty of Alberta inspired me to look at a map and envision where there was some land that would enable the vision that I saw as the anchor to my story. The highway is one that I have travelled many times and in this story, I gave my imagination permission to wander. Hopefully, BACKLASH will enable you to enjoy the answers to these questions. And to enjoy the ride.
