In 2002, we went on trip to England with some friends, stayed in rural Wiltshire, and it was there and while traveling by rail around England, that Spies & Lies was born. That was long before the days that I carried a smartphone or owned a laptop – my computer was sitting at home on the desk. So, Spies & Lies began life after I purchased a coil notebook at one of the train stations. While my companions played crib and read, I was writing furiously to try and keep up with my thoughts. (which is why I prefer to keyboard when writing). This went on for three weeks, and by the time we returned home, three-quarters of the book was written.
