When I began this website, countless hours were spent reading blogs written by those with expertise in what it takes to get a book from a few words on your computer to a polished and professional work. The repeated theme was that a work in progress must be edited. Why you ask? I asked too. Now I know the answer.
My book, Malice & Murder (working title The Whisper), was sent to be professionally edited. I had no idea what to expect. My story came back and there were a lot of notations, changes and punctuation edits. When the book was sent, I felt confident it had been polished to the extent I was capable. That’s why everyone needs an editor. Fresh eyes, an objective opinion and the professional knowledge to perform the task is what an editor does. And this process makes the book better.
A big thank you to Jeff Hansen (jphansenediting.com) for such a positive experience. If you require the services of an editor, I wholeheartedly recommend him.
