Twitter: You Have to Love it!

It has been my experience that Twitter has allowed me the opportunity to interact with a group of very nice, interesting and diverse people. I have had an entertaining, humorous conversation with mystery writer, @erickeithmystry. He is a very witty and funny man; follow him if you don’t already. I admire quick-witted people because I am not quick at all when it comes to a snappy comeback, and often think of a comeback hours or days later.

When my husband became terminally ill, control of our lives went out the window.  Fifteen months later, we are still standing, but the disease has taken its toll. Despite the fact that Christmas has always been my favourite holiday, this year after a recent relapse with my husband’s issues, I was having a little pity party of one. Other than skimming quickly and replying to some of the follows on Twitter, I’ve had neither the time nor the attitude to keep up with what was happening, despite the fact that you meet some awfully nice folks in this process.

My discussion with @erickeithmystry took place this past weekend and it made me laugh out loud. Laughing reminded me that life is not a one note tune, and it was time to kick my shitty attitude in the backside. The moral of the story?  Smiles, even written ones, have the power to change a bad mood into a good one.
