Do Ghosts Exist?

This is such a busy time of year.  Besides the rush of Christmas shopping, arranging meals and menus for arriving family, I chose this time of the year to write a new book. Why?

Because it demanded to be written and being weak, I could not resist the adrenalin rush of revealing its mysteries. I admit honestly that I am addicted to the feeling of allowing a spark of an idea that becomes a roaring fire and releasing it from my imagination. My fervent hope is that my beta readers will feel the same enjoyment of the story when they’re done.

Do you believe in ghosts?  Paranormal subjects have been in vogue this past few years.  Who can forget Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore in the famous movie, Ghost some years ago? “Ditto” Sigh!

It seems everyone has their own idea about ghosts, and being an opinionated person, I have one too!  Dirty Little Family Secret (Now The Whisper) is about a ghost.  A ghost with a secret past.  A ghost that got that way because she was murdered.

She seeks help from a childhood friend, Steven Hunter, one of my heroes of the Spy Series.  Yes, it’s incestuous, but to my way of thinking I own the character already, so why not?  He is one of the good guys, but why would he hesitate to help the ghost and how do they even connect?

If all goes well in the editing process, The Whisper will be published in January 2012. Hopefully, this story will be as enjoyable to read as it was to write.

Sounds fun! I love the idea of ghosts and have always been intrigued by them. I never believed they existed until I was in college and had to write a research paper on ghosts (seriously, it was fun). I interviewed a few well respected people (truthful people) and one ladies experience gave me the chills. As a child for a whole year she could never sleep at night. This indian ghost would come into her room, sit on her bed, and pull her to a sitting position. He wouldn’t let her sleep. She’d try to lay down. he’d pull her back up. Every night. She would end up falling asleep at school and her mother actually took her to a doctor to figure out what was going on. She was six at the time. Eventually, she took her parents what was going on with this nightly visitor. They told her to tell him to go away and not come back and she did. He left. There is more to this story that was interesting, but I don’t want to take up more time.

Anyway, good luck with your writing!

Wow, what an interesting story! Could be a great book. Thanks for sharing.
I do believe in ghosts as well. Somehow, it just makes sense that they exist.
My ghostly character is able to slip into people’s dreams, because I have had that experience with deceased relatives, so it is possible.
